The 2015 La Serre is bold, powerful and juicy, all qualities that are best enjoyed on the young side. Some rough edges remain, but the 2015 has filled out nicely. What comes through most is a plump, juicy, midweight wine to drink now and over the next few years. La Serre is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.

Suave, cedary oak aromas with bright vanillin-dusted plums, raspberries and some graphite. The palate delivers clean-cut tannins, carrying flavors of blackberries and mulberries to an upbeat finish. Drink or hold. (2018)

Made from 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Château La Serre is a ripe, sexy beauty that's packed with fruit. Black cherries, blueberries, leafy herbs and hints of tobacco all emerge from this ripe, opulent 2015 that has sweet tannin, a charming, forward style, moderate concentration, and a great finish. It should be a smoking value and delivers loads of pleasure already. Tasted twice. (2017)

Direct, with charming raspberry and blackberry puree notes infused with sweet spice accents and backed by roasted apple wood and mint hints. Relatively open now and should drink well in the near-term. Drink now through 2025. 2,000 cases made.

A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 La Serre sports a medium bright garnet-purple color and is scented of warm plums, crushed blackberries and fragrant earth with wafts of black olives and mossy tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, finely crafted, refreshing and with lovely purity, it has a well-played frame of grainy tannins and a mineral note to the finish.
