2014 Château Le Boscq

The 2014 Le Boscq is a sleeper for the vintage and shows just how well Saint-Estèphe did in 2014. Succulent dark cherry, plum, smoke, gravel and cured meat notes all meld together in a deep, pliant wine endowed with notable depth and intensity. This is a fabulous Cru Bourgeois from the Dourthe family of estates.

Juicy, offering a mix of lively plum and red currant fruit underscored by wet stone and lilac accents. Gains depth with air, the finish pulling the fruit and mineral accents together. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2018 through 2022. 5,350 cases made, 80 cases imported.

The 2014 Le Boscq is a delightful cru Bourgeois with blackberry and sous-bois on the nose, a swirl and there's a whiff of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, fresh and focused with a touch of black pepper on the pretty finish, while maintaining Saint Estèphe-like austerity and typicity. This is highly recommended. Tasted September 2016.
