Bright, full red-ruby. Captivating, vibrant nose offers blackberry, dark raspberry, violet face powder, black olive, licorice, flint and exotic spices; a real exercise in limestone. Deep and chewy, with pungent minerality currently dominating underlying fruit. Less user-friendly than the Syrah Estate but not hard. I love the light touch from limestone. Turns lusher and sweeter on the very long, dense, palate-saturating back end. (A second bottle was considerably more reduced and closed in.
