Voerzio's 2007 Barolo La Serra is off the charts. This is an unusually dark, imposing La Serra bursting with notable intensity in its dark red fruit wrapped around a firm wall of tannin. At times open and perfumed, at others muscular and inward, La Serra shows the complexity and pedigree that makes Barolo such an intriguing wine. La Serra can sometimes present slightly hard tannins, but in 2007 there is so much fruit, that trait is virtually impossible to detect. The 2007 is one of the greatest La Serras of all time.

Roberto Voerzio’s Barolos usually number just a few hundred cases. One of his best comes from the vineyard of La Serra, which was a knockout in the ripe vintage of 2007. It has such depth of fruit and power. Ripe tannins. A perfect wine. (05/2014)

Stunning aromas of cherry, licorice, tar and tobacco mark this ripe, expressive Barolo. Dense and concentrated, yet fresh and round, with sweet fruit the main feature. There's a long aftertaste, but given the wine's forward character, should be approachable soon. Best from 2015 through 2033. 320 cases made.
