1999 Château La Sergue

Bright medium ruby. Aromas of raspberry coulis and blueberry. Rich and ripe, with a floral nuance. Offers good density and inner-mouth aromatics yet comes across as a bit brutal at this stage. Tannins spread out nicely on the finish.

A pretty, balanced red, with berry, mineral and floral character. Medium-bodied, with fresh acidity and fine tannins. Lively wine. Well done. Best after 2003. 1,365 cases made.

Overripe black cherries and berries, intermixed with earth and spice are symbolic of this beautifully made, pure, well-knit, low acid wine. It should be consumed during its first 5-6 years of life.
