The medium deep ruby-colored 1995 Vieux-Fortin offers a moderately intense, herb-tinged, berry, spicy, and chocolatey-scented nose, and a creamy texture. There is a tannic overlay, but the wine's primary appeal is its up-front fruit, plumpness, and easy-going, open-knit character. Anticipated maturity: Now-2006. This wine is an excellent value.
